How it fits your diet
Eggs are one of the cheapest complete proteins: a medium egg gives about 6 g of protein, and most of the fat sits in the yolk. There is no need to cut them when you are losing fat, just count them. For more protein per calorie, mix whole eggs with egg whites: two eggs plus 100 g of whites come to about 195 kcal and 23 g of protein.
Calories in a boiled egg and a fried egg
Cooking barely changes an egg’s calories: 100 g of hard-boiled egg has 155 kcal, so one boiled egg (50 g) has 78 kcal. With a fried egg the cooking fat makes the difference: USDA lists 196 kcal per 100 g, or 90 kcal for one fried egg (46 g). Fry it in a non-stick pan with a drop of oil and you stay close to the boiled number.
