Who is this plan for?
For many women 1,500 kcal is a good fat-loss plan, especially with low to moderate activity. For active women and most men it may be too low: check with the calorie calculator.
Making the plan fit you
If your weekly average weight hasn’t moved after two or three weeks, take off 100-150 kcal a day (a smaller snack, for example).
If you are losing fast (more than 1% of body weight a week) or feel very tired, add a snack.
Swap in a bigger lunch on training days and a smaller one on rest days: the weekly average is what counts.
Swap freely: a breakfast for another breakfast, a dinner for one with similar calories. Browse recipes by category.
For meal prep, cook the first half of the week’s lunches on Sunday; most recipes keep 3-4 days in the fridge.
Weigh in grams, at least for the first week: the daily totals come from the recipes’ grams.
Drink enough water, and after two or three weeks adjust the calories from your weekly average weight.
Frequently asked questions
Who is a 1,500 calorie meal plan for?
Many women losing fat, especially with low to moderate activity. It may be too low for active women and most men; the calorie calculator gives your number.
How much weight can I lose on 1,500 calories?
It depends on your needs. If you need 1,900 kcal, a 400 kcal daily deficit might mean roughly 0.3-0.4 kg of fat a week. Weight also swings with water, so watch the weekly average.
Is 1,500 calories enough if I work out?
For many women, yes, especially with high protein (at least 110 g in this plan). If you feel very tired or your training suffers, eat more.
Can I swap recipes in the plan?
Yes, for a recipe from the same category with similar calories. In the app that is one tap, and the totals update automatically.
